Our Philosophy
The City of Tama Police Department is comprised of a talented and dedicated team of professionals who are compassionate about making a difference in our community through exceptional community policing principles. By utilizing the true concept of community service as our foundation, we are allowed to maintain a healthy balance of education, enforcement, and community involvement to accomplish realistic goals that are beneficial to those we serve. Being citizen focused allows us the opportunities to work directly with residents, business owners, and visitors within our community to prevent crime, improve the quality of life, and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
Our Department
The Tama Police Department is a progressive and professional full-service law-enforcement agency currently consisting of nine officers, which include full-time, part-time, and reserve members providing 24-hour coverage to our community. As the first-responders to major crimes, general calls for service and emergencies for our community, officers are professionally trained, properly equipped and mission guided to provide exceptional service in times of need.
